District Update from the DCM

Hello everyone, a good day to you!

There have been a couple of developments in the District that I'd like to pass along.

To avoid conflicting with the music lessons that are held on Thursdays at PLUC, we have received permission to move the District meeting to the first TUESDAY of each month . The meeting time is still 6 p.m. , and you can attend in person or via Zoom as usual. I hope this will let everyone hear and participate in the meeting easily. Hope to "see" lots of you on the first Tuesday in February.

Secondly,. Pete Mackin, the new community resources director of the Salvation Army attended the January meeting and gave an overview of what type of services the SA would like to offer to the recovery community and how they can work with AA. They want to support recovery related efforts in the local area wholeheartedly. This can be a very positive resource for us to have reaching those in need of AA. If anyone is willing to add your name to a contact list for Mr. Mackin, he would appreciate that, since he doesn't know many of us personally. This would be for his use only, to reach out to if he has a client that asks for information or someone to talk to in AA. His number at the Salvation Army is (906)-362-9120.

Lastly, there is going to be a short workshop on Saturday, February 6, from 10 a.m.--noon, at PLUC for any member who has wanted to use Zoom but hasn't yet. It will be hands-on, bring your laptop, phone, tablet, or IPad, and we will walk through installing Zoom and then practicing with the functions. GSR's, please take this to your groups, it is open to all members in the District. It. is best to call and register ahead.

. A half-sheet reminder flyer you can print out will follow. I hope we can help you "Zoom" into 2021!

With gratitude,

Lil
